UPADTE: It’s now almost time for this year’s Rolando Street Fair. Hope to see you there!
The 15th Annual Rolando Street Fair is on Sunday, March 27 this year.
Come out, meet your neighbors, enjoy over one hundred vendor booths and support your community organizations selling hand-crafted items, scrumptious food, and other services at Rolando’s annual street festival.
As usual the carnival rides will be present. Show your kids centrifugal force first-hand by sending them for a spin on the RoundUp! Enjoy the massive bouncy world, and conquer the climbing wall.
Enjoy live music performed by local talent including:
- Gone Tomorrow
- Steph Johnson
- Billy Midnight
- Quino of Big Mountain with full band
- Len Rainey and the Midnight Players
The hub of the street fair is at the Rolando Village Triangle located on Rolando Boulevard and Serrano Place just a block south of El Cajon Boulevard. Here’s a map for you.
A big thanks to everyone who makes this possible. Including but not limited to:
- The Rolando Community Council (a local 501c.3) for organizing this event
- Marty Emerald’s 7th District Council Office for a generous grant of $3,000
- The San Diego City Arts Council for awarding $3,100 to support this production
- Doug Lister and all the tireless volunteers who make me feel lazy and guilty
- All the fun people near and far who come each year to enjoy the fair

Hello,
My name is Renee and I have a sister named Debbie. We have taken on the challenge of walking in the Susan G. Komen 3-day for a cure here in San Diego this November. In order to be able to participate in the 60 mile walk, we must first raise $2,300 EACH. This is a large number for anyone to raise, but we are determined. People tell us this will be very challenging and seeing that we are only 19 and 16 years old, most or our friends can’t make the type of donations we need to hit the magic number.
We were wondering if we may set up a table at the Rolando Village Street Faire on Sunday March 27th where we would have information on breast cancer and breast cancer awareness items for donations (bracelets, ribbon pins, bookmarks).
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

I admire your conviction Renee! I wish the decision was up to me but I’m not directly involved with the production of the Street Fair. My guess is that Betty Murasky will be able to give you an answer. You can find her contact info on the Rolando Community Council’s 2011 street fair page. Best of luck to you on your challenge and fundraising goals. I bet you’ll make it.
I grew up in this neighborhood in the 1940 till 1953 on Rolando blvd. and am interested in the street fair but did not know about it until on t v today and wondered if you could tell me the date next year as I would like to spend the day with all of you and see my old house at 4712 Rolando Blvd. and the people who could still be there.
Kathy
thanx
