It’s time again for the BOO! Parade, San Diego’s biggest costume party followed by the BOO! Carnival.

The Boulevard BOO! Parade travels through the College Area at 10am on Saturday, October 23, 2010. Beginning at 59th Street in El Cerrito, the Boulevard BOO! Parade will travel east along El Cajon Boulevard, crosses College Avenue, and concludes at Rolando Boulevard in the heart of Rolando Village.

Bring your family to the BOO! Carnival 11am-5pm, Admission is FREE, Clay Park at Art Street.

Free live bluegrass this Saturday, 8/28/10, at Clay Park

Rolando neighbor Richard Burkett and his bluegrass band, Gone Tomorow, will play a free (thanks guys!) concert this Saturday at Clay Park. The show runs from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.

The Rolando Community Council have arranged to provide shade. So come with blankets, chairs, drinks, or just yourself and be ready to have some fun.

The last dine-out fundraiser at Panda Express raised over $225 for the Language Academy.

We’re all neighbors in Rolando and beyond. So celebrate Earth Day 2009 by committing random acts of kindness toward Earth, each other, and future generations. Here’s a short list of links of simple things you can do to make a difference today and everyday:

Catwalks, or little “secrete sidewalks”, as my kids like to call them, are all over Rolando. We’re going on a family walk to Clay park and I used Google Maps to discover new catwalks and corners of Rolando. No doubt there will be pictures to come.

A Celebration for the Rest all of Us

The San Diego Police Historical Assn. generously offered to host this year’s celebration in its so- new-it’s-not-quite-open museum! Come get a sneak preview of this amazing collection of San Diego police memorabilia! Coffee and punch provided.

When:
Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 – 7:00 p.m.

Where:
Rolando Methodist Church, 4855 Seminole Dr.
New Venue: Police Museum, 4710 College Ave.

You can park in the bank lot or the church lot across the street from the museum, but please do the safe thing and walk down to the light to cross!
